An organic farmer pays all the attention to the top, about 10-30 cm thick layer of earth: it is a layer of humus. It is full of life, constantly created and constantly broken down, changed for the better or worse. This layer of soil has most intense impact on the growth and health of plants. The gardener can, with his biological cultivating, influence directly the layer of humus. He can nurture it, feed and grow. The land is at the center of his efforts. Warm, loose humus rich in nutrients is a goal of every farmer.
But first, we need to figure out what this magic word – humus- actually means. Firstly: the humus is more than the sum of its physical, chemical and biological properties. It is a living organism – and therefore, like all living things, it is ultimately unpredictable. This is one reason why a good bio gardener need not only a certain amount of expertise, but also a good heart and opened eyes to observe that with love and with accuracy.

Now it is already certain: the poisons are everywhere around us! In many cases, it is a matter with which we are in contact every day, since they are hidden in cosmetics, toys, dishes, cleaning, clothing, floors, walls, ironing boards, furniture, and so on. Sometimes, these chemical substances are needed in manufacturing processes. They are released gradually and harm the environment in long term. There are chemicals whose toxicity has not been adequately tested and they are, unfortunately found in the food chain.

Therefore, it is the time to find out how chemical elements affect health and the environment.

Add green ingredients because of the high level of nitrogen, it speeds up the process of braking down. Compost also needs enough moisture to breakdown, however, too much moisture can cause temperatures to fall within the pile and make it smell. Too little moisture slows down the decomposition rate and keeps the pile from heating up. Check your compost pile’s moisture level once a week and adjust it if necessary by adding water to increase moisture or more browns to help dry the pile out. Turn the pile once a week to move material from the outside of the pile in.

Can we completely wash away all those chemicals from the food we eat, especially if the fruits are not organic? The answer is, unfortunately negative, because many of the used chemicals are actually inside the plant and can not be fully washed off.  What is actually most horrifying is that once the water is contaminated with chemical waste, even organic farmers will experience difficulties keeping their plants clean and pure. The only solution would be to stop buying food that is treated with chemicals. Moreover, stop using chemicals in your life.

Organic food is grown without the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Organic farming in general protects the ecosystem and natural resources, as well as the health of all those who deal with them and of consumers. If you choose an organic product it means that you have made a good choice because, among other things, it is never genetically modified.

What does organic cosmetics really mean?
* This means that it must be produced from natural, organically grown raw materials from wild plants or ecologically clean areas
* Must have a certificate that confirms the controlled natural origin of raw materials
* Should not contain synthetic colors, fragrances, preservatives, mineral oils, silicon or other diesel
* Land on which organic plants are grown should not be treated with
pesticides and artificial fertilizers  (for the last 20 or more years)
* Natural cosmetics are not tested on animals
* In the product, the whole INCI composition should be shown
* Cosmetics that meet all these criteria are entitled to a certificate of natural organic cosmetics. This certificate is a guarantee of organic, natural, superior quality and product safety to human health
