In today’s world it is very difficult to affect the quality of life at individual level. The quality of air, water, noise, etc.. most are beyond our control, particularly in urban areas. On the other hand, the quality of the daily diet can be very easily improved with minimal effort. It is known that the diet is a critical factor in good health and many diseases can be prevented or kept under control through healthy eating and healthier lifestyle.
The rapid development of our civilization has led certainly to prosperity, but also it has developed “civilization diseases” – cardiovascular and malignant disease, many patients with diabetes, elevated cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood … One cause is certainly inadequate nutrition. Through the consumption of foods produced in a conventional manner we daily take into our body harmful ingredients, such as harmful substances in food that are deposited during breeding (pesticides, fertilizers, hormones, veterinary preparations …), of those added during processing (nitrates and nitrites, synthetic additives …), or various toxins that incurred through inadequate packaging (metal cans, printing color ..). It is used about 60,000 different chemicals in the food industry, each of us ingest at least 2.5 kg of these substances yearly! This fact calls into question all previous views on the biological value of food.

The three most important international organizations FAO (Organization for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization), UNEP (Programme for Environmental Protection UN) and WHO (World Health Organization) have jointly called attention to the increased vulnerability of children to pesticides, as well as their necessary protection from chemicals.

In the American study, headed by prof. Dr. William Ria, it was revealed four-fold increase in the number of cases of cancer of soft tissues, and doubling the number of cases of leukemia in children whose parents are keeping their vegetable plots using herbicides, pesticides or insecticides.
Specifically, children in the period of growth and development take much more food and fluids than adults, and with them the risk of eating contaminated food is very high. Unfortunately, the development of the immune system during this period is directly affected by chemicals.

The answer is, unfortunately negative, because many of the used chemicals are actually inside the plant and can not be fully washed off.  What is actually most horrifying is that once the water is contaminated with chemical waste, even organic farmers will experience difficulties keeping their plants clean and pure. The only solution would be to stop buying food that is treated with chemicals. Moreover, stop using chemicals in your life.

Organic food is grown without the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Organic farming in general protects the ecosystem and natural resources, as well as the health of all those who deal with them and of consumers. If you choose an organic product it means that you have made a good choice because, among other things, it is never genetically modified.
